It is a great fun game of badminton! Either just mess around with friends, or if you are really trying to turn pro then get in on the tournaments. One of the first things you need to learn when playing well and enjoy tennis is how to hold your racquet. The grips are the different ways you can hold the racquet, and this dictates how efficient or effective shot making is from such a given position.
You will not find a player who uses exactly the same grip as you but all players should be familiar with five basic grips. The first grip is the Forehand Grip. It's the most elementary grip, and it is one that everyone should learn first. It is when you grab the racquet with your thumb and index fingers, keeping it wrapped around by the rest of your hand. There is another grip which we call Backhand Grip. It's kind of a Forehand grip turned the other way around. If you understand these two grips, it can make a difference on how well of player and the enjoyment that goes along with playing.
The third grip that we will look at today is the Backhand thumb. You use the same grip as for a Backhand, but in this case you place your thumb on the opposite side of the racket. Since, this grip allows you to smash the shuttle without any resistance and provides more power than other normal grips. The Forehand thumb grip is the fourth one. Your thumb is behind the racket head but your fingers have been placed in the forehand position. When you serve or smash, your palm should hold the grip so that friction is created thereby permitting addition of more spins leading to better aim and hence easier to win a game.
Last but not least we have the Panhandle grip. This is the most difficult grip to master. You grasp the racquet by its throat as if you were holding a pan handle. This grip is very difficult to master and require strong practice, but it can make you lot powerful and easier in hitting the shuttle consecutively. The claw grip doesn't obtain the same significance necessary on an optical, but if you can get a handle on this grip using their software assistance; your play will benefit from it.
Well, do you know that these grips can be slightly customized to your liking? If you are too high, then lower your grip to adjust for the shot and take another. For instance, you will have to grip the racquet differently for serving as opposed to when are doing a smash shot. So you must hold your racquet tight enough that the grip does not slip off in between, but loose enough to make sure while playing for long hours it doesn't pain outright. There are some special grip techniques for playing badminton, try changing your hold if you want to improve on this aspect. This is what they call the Flick serve grip. It is used in the case when you intend to do a flick serve. You take a chilled out grip on the handle, and allow it more or less to balance in your index finger. It lets you make a fast first serve and one that the receiver of your serve can possiblly expect.
We all heard of the Topspin grip and a method is here. You can use this grip to put top spin on the ball, curving it down. A grip that looks like this is the thumb on top backhand grip in which you keep your racquet with your thumb at its back. It allows you to better manage your strokes and yes, make them feel less hard which are the ideal characteristics for rack up a score against an opponent.
