batting grips

There are several bat grips to start from. The 2 most common grips are overlap grip & choking up grip When your hands touch one another on the bat, this is called the overlap grip. The Choke up grip is when you slide your hands up the thicker section of the bat.

If you use the correct grip, it can also enable you to strike the ball harder and more accurately. According to some, if you use overlapping grip, you may smash the ball with extra energy. If you use a grip called choking up, you can better control where the ball goes.

Different types of batting grips and when to use them

It happens all the time: Players screw up their grip. Mistake No. 1: Gripping the bat too tightly. You may not swing quite as fast if you squeeze, too hard. Another error is failing to get your grip properly established before you begin the shot. Make sure to get set before you swing.

Different grips can be experimented with during practice to discover what works best for you. Figure out which one feels best and helps you get on track with hitting. You may also consult with your coach or a more experienced player to get recommendations for the best grip if your style is already determined.
